Tour durch Berlin/ Berlin Sights (English below)

Vor einigen Wochen waren Antti und Tuomas aus Helsinki zu Besuch. Sie haben einen Roadtrip durch Europa gemacht und Berlin war die letzte Station. Meine Aufgabe war natürlich, ihnen die Stadt zu zeigen. Also sind wir in Friedrichshain gestartet und zur Eastside gallery gelaufen, um die Reste der Mauer zu bestaunen. Für mich war es auch das erste Mal dort.

Few weeks ago, Antti and Tuomas from Helsinki were visiting me. They did a road trip around Europe and had their last big stop in Berlin. Of course, it was my duty to show them the Berlin sights. Thus we started here in Friedrichshain and walked to the Eastside Gallery, where you can see the last remains of the Berlin wall. For me it was the first time, too.   

Paris Impression/Paris Impressions (english below) II

Hier sind weitere Bilder von Paris. Diesmal etwas abseits vom Tourismus und so französisch wie man es sich vorstellt. Dazu noch ein Bild vom Flughafen Orly. Er ist bereits 50 Jahre alt und sieht für mich so aus wie ein James Bond Film. Zu seiner Zeit top modern und fast futuristisch…jetzt hat er ein bestimmtes Flair.

Here are more pictures from Paris. This time away from the touristic centre and as French as you can imagine. Additionally, a pic from Orly. This airpot is already 50 years old and looks like a James Bond movie for me. At its time very modern and almost futuristic…now it has its own flair.   

Paris Impression/Paris Impressions (english below)

Hier sind ein paar Bilder aus Paris. Ich war vor einigen Wochen geschäftlich dort und hatte noch genügend Zeit, um durch die Straßen und Gassen zu schlendern. Das Touristenzentrum finde ich dabei gar nicht so interessant, da man nichts von dem typischen Flair erfährt. Zu viele Touristen und genervte Einwohner. Aber etwas abseits vom Trubel lernt man sofort was „savoir vivre“ bedeutet…aber trotzdem ein wenig Louvre und Co.

Here are some pictures from Paris. Few weeks ago, I made a business trip to the French capital and had enough time to walk around. Personally, I don’t like the touristic centre of the town, because you can’t find the special flair there. Too many tourists and too man annoyed inhabitants. Just a little walk away from the centre, you learn what “savoir vivre” means…however still a little bit Louvre and others.
