Today, I went out with my whole family (16 people) to a small spa village (Bad Saarow) close to Berlin to have a Christmas lunch. We went to a hotel, which is located right on a huge (at the moment frozen) lake. Thus, we had a beautiful scenery with plenty of snow covering everything around us. The hotel is an old building from 1900 and the inside is decorated like a mansion from that time. At the moment, the entire interior is complemented with really tasteful Christmas stuff. We were sitting in a private room with lake view on one giant table covered with candles and flowers. I like it when everyone fits on one table. The only problem is that you can’t talk to the others sitting on the other end. Thus, we are always discussing, who is sitting next to each other for quite a while before we are ready to eat. For starter, I had steamed salsify soup with deer filet. My main course was lamb with a reduction of cherries and balsamic vinegar, a variety of beans and pommes parisienne. And last, but not least, I ordered a tart with pear and quince with homemade pear ice cream and figs….yummmmyyyy! I love our Christmas lunches.

Back in Berlin (now english)
I am back in Germany and it's freezing cold. Sendai 16°C...Berlin -11°C to -20°C...brrrrrr! At least it is snowing, so I don't mind the cold (so much). Last weekend, I went with my family to one of Berlins christmas markets. We choosed the one close to the Alexanderplatz, which is very nice. The best thing is the ice skating lane around the Neptune fountain and the punch parlours...we had a lot of punch.
